High-Tech NY Assignment

My International School of Photography New York Photo Project Class, taught by AP/SIPA photographer John Smock, was given the following assignment for this week (not verbatim):

There are many ICONIC images of New York. Today, New York is the media center of the world. Create an image that represents this fact and that could become iconic in the future... (something like that).

Here's a selection of what I came up with:

Tell me what you think! It was a challenging assignment in the first place (for me, anyway). Just couldn't quite wrap around the concept. But, in addition, hobbling around on crutches made it all a little more challenging. I took these on the way home from the hospital last week!

A NYC yellow cab roars through Times Square under a sign that reads "the power to watch live tv on your phone." Definitely a new age is upon us.

The view of the Empire State Building as seen through the glass at the Top of the Rock tourist trap...$18 to get the views from the 70th floor of Rockefeller Center. What made the trip worthwhile was the cool ligthing effect of the less than cool photo zone (another tourist trap within or atop a tourist trap). Good ol' NYC!
